Rest and sleep is inevitable for happy and healthy life. Rest is a state of reduced mental activity. Body activities are carried out with low energy output. True rest should give deep relaxation. Rest allows body to repair and quietens mind. Rest while meditation helps to recover lost inner strength. Rest is different from sleep. Sleep occurs when your mind is unaware of what is happening. While rest occurs in a wake state. Rest through meditation enlightens the mind and bring it to emotion free stress free state. This meditation is an experience of rest through meditation.
Try....Sit back....Breath rhythmically in and out...Relax your whole body ...imagine your whole body is weightless.....your mind is blank.....Think...I am a peaceful being...My mind is stable like calm sea....I know my mind is supporting my body.....My intellect is clean and pure with out any disturbing thoughts.....I realise healthy body and healthy mind needs adequate rest....I am choosing my way of resting...I understand I can experience real rest when my mind is free of illusions and struggles...Connecting to god almighty .I am radiating peace to my mind...My mind is becoming more and more calm and easy now....I am comfortable ...experiencing an inner stillness...
